Kenny Feinstein – Loveless: Hurts to Love
Front-man for Portland's Water-Tower, Kenny Feinstein released his debut solo album, Loveless | Hurts To Love, on September 17.2013. The record, which contains all eleven tracks from the My Bloody Valentine classic lp, plus the track "Swallow" from their 1991 Termolo ep, finds Feinstein not just covering his favorite record, but recreating it with acoustic guitar, piano, strings and a variety of other acoustic instruments. The record strips the tracks down to their bare essentials, and lets them shine in naked, vulnerable beauty. Feinstein, along with producer Jeff Kazor (Crooked Jades) and Bruce Kaphan (American Music Club), enlisted the help of Richard Buckner as a guest for background vocals and ukelele, and together they have made a timeless record that is an exercise in the subtleties of space and sound.
There record is available here on limited-edition 45rpm audiophile-quality double lp/cd/FLAC/mp3.
